I absolutely love this manga/anime.

My favorite character in it has to be Count D - the eccentric and androgynous owner of "Count D's Pet Shop".

While there is a lot of gore and murder and things in the series. I wouldn't necessarily say its a horror anime. In my opinion, I'd say it's more of a sci-fi/fantasy anime as it focusses on D who isn't human and is sells mythological creatures to unsuspecting customers.
