| This was posted on the last forum and I decided it was an interesting enough topic to share.
DISLIKED:
Kyoya Suda / Day Two / 01:00:00 - What a pain in the ass. I hated having to sneak around that pistol wielding shibito. That and sometimes I killed him in order to get him out of my way. and when that other shibito comes into the house after you get the pliers is so damn inconvenient. Also when Kyoya gets the stuff from the cabniet and the shibito comes out of the floorboards, if i wanted to make a quick getaway from the other shibito I was afriad this asshole would alert them. I really dispise playing this level. Its nothing but a thorn in my side.
Reiko Takato / Day One / 02:00:00 - Seriously, I hate this level with a passion. Getting those candles for the later missions was a nightmare due to I was always getting killed by either the one with the pistol or I'd have bad luck fighting in the gym. And Harumi can go die for running back upstairs. Seriously only one time she was in the bathroom and we actually made it back to the staff room with no problems and I WAS GRATEFUL. That was the last time playing that level and I don't plan on revisiting it anytime soon.
Kyoya Suda / Day One / 08:00:00 - It's not that I don't like this level its just there is a part where you need to get a screwdriver from a truck in order to open up more missions, and that is hard as shit. I got a migrane trying to get it.
Akira Shimura / Day One / 16:00:00 - That damn shibito at the bottom of the tower NEVER LEFT so as soon as I would climb down he was already waiting to kill me. And its not like I could shoot him from the top because the angle was too steep. And that timed mission with Yoriko is god awful. I think those developers got a sick pleasure out of torturing us.
LIKED: Shiro Miyata / Day One / 07:00:00 - I loved the police officer in the room eating in the lunchnette and the icecream container. Plus you got to run around with my favorite charcter Risa which is an instant plus.
Risa Onda / Day One / 04:00:00 - Fucking around with the stuff around the abandoned house was fun.
Harumi Yomoda / Day Two / 15:00:00 - this was hilarious.
Kei Makino / Day One / 12:00:00 - i personally like the sirens in the backround and this level changed the way I would view Kei. Him and Tomoko together was full of lulz.
He was constantly like "Fucking run!" to Tomoko as they hightailed it from the shibito which I just found hilarious. I could just picture his "I pissed my pants" face as they scrambled up that big rocky hill to the shrine.
They are my favorite duo beside Tamon and Yoriko.<3
Tomoko Maeda / Day Two / 06:00:00 - Prettiest level in the entire game. I love the little squid things that float around.
Tomoko Maeda / Day One / 17:00:00 - LOL, Flip that coin box and run! XD _________________ My Siren Fansite: |

You didn't complete Tamon's 02:00 sub-objective, I presume... There is no shibito under fire tower if the shibito is shot down the well earlier.
>>Reiko Takato / Day One / 02:00:00
Slightly OT, but from what I could gather from a japanise glitch site, making Harumi hide in a closet in certain circumstances (when someone hits her?) she becomes completely immortal. Would be fun to see this in real life. |

That might have been. D: Its okay now because I've defeated the game. (and without any action replay. I'm proud of myself. LOL)_________________ My Siren Fansite: |

| My favourite missions are:
Reiko's Stages - Guiding Harumi was...intense. The school was very claustrophobic, and then Karuwari was more intense (it's my favourite area in the entire game).
Risa's Stage in the Hospital - Nothing beats killing Spider Shibito with an Umbrella. Nothing. Besides, Risa's stages were interesting in how she used things to create distractions - for example, the fire extuinguisher.
Tomoko's Stage in Karuwari - it was so atmospheric, and a big shock because I didn't know why the hell I wasn't being attacked; not the mention the joy of seeing Naoko Mihama running around as a Shibito.
The mission I hated most was Akira's timed mission, I'm really not a big fan of timed challenges; and it was a big change of pace from my usual playing style of sneaking around doing my best to avoid detection altogether - not running around and hoping I could take out Shibito with a very strict time limit. |

| Most hated: All of Naoko's missions. Playing her aggravated me.
Favorite: Any mission with Shiro and Kei. But more specifically the first mission with Shiro in the forest : ) I loved tricking the shibito, and the shibito by the stairs without a weapon would just look at me and start screaming and head for the opposite direction! |

| So after playing and completing the game again for the last ten days, everything is fresh in my mind again. My opinion on some levels changed a bit because I now knew from the beginning how the game has to be played. Well this going to get long:
I hate the following:
Reiko Day 1 - 02:00: Even though I have no problem to complete this mission today, I hate this mission out of principal matters. When I first played this mission, I died so many times just reaching the stupid office and when I finally reached the point of fighting Eiji, I also kept dying because his increased speed and power compared to other shibitos caught me off guard. When that happened I didn't play the game for a full month, because I was so enraged. This mission has almost turned me into a Siren hater, but thankfully when I played it again after a month I managed to beat it in one try. Easily my most hated mission.
Akira Day 1 - 08:20:
If it wasn't for that stupid sniper in front of the cart, where you need extreme luck to hit him in a matter of a second, this probably would be one of my favorite missions because I like the Gojaku setting.
Akira Day 1 - 16:00:
Very easy actually if you know how to approach this level, but it almost gave me a headache until I completed it. Just too many snipers... and this one also showcases the awful Non-playable character AI the game has.
Naoko Day 1 - 22:00:
Too many spider shibito in the school and at first Eiji runs away from you, but if you manage to down him, he gets up way too fast to be of any advantage.
Kyoya Day 2 - 01:00:
This level wouldn't be too bad if it wasn't for that stupid female shibito who is patroling the house after you get the pliers. It just makes matters worse than they already are.
Kyoya Day 2 - 07:00:
The Shibito brain runs way too fast. Another headache-inducing mission...
Kyoya Day 3 - 23:00:
I hate the sniper duel between Jun and Kyoya. You have to time your shots quite accurately and additionally while Jun can strafe with ease if he runs towards your pole, you have to fight with the awful controls. Fighting Datatsushi is very very anticlimactic after such an atmospheric game.
I like these ones:
Risa Day 1 - 04:00:
As one of the first levels it's a pretty good one. Not many shibito patrolling the area which gives you enough time to explore everything. Also I always thought the theme of abandoned house had a humorous tone to it.
Kyoya Day 1 - 08:10:
As a training level it's good I guess because here you can practise the timing of the melee fighting controls. For some reason this early level has always stood out to me.
Naoko Day 1 - 19:00:
I like how you have nothing in the beginning and then come back with a revolver showing those shibito who's the boss here, very satisfying.
Tamon Day 1 - 20:00:
I like this one for the fact that before you play this level you think there are only the regular humanoid shibito. Seeing all those disgusting and creepy monsters at once gave me some uneasy nights.
Shiro Day 2 - 00:00:
One of my favorite levels by far. Fighting Risa in the beginning, then in the middle and lastly fighting Mina in the basement. This is an undeniable classic to me.
Tomoko Day 2 - 06:00:
The first time I didn't even know that you're not being attacked here. I was all happy when I beat this level for the first time, just to realise later that this is the easiest level in the entire game.
Harumi Day 2 - 15:00:
I like the Texas Chainsaw Massacre influence in the beginning. Reiko chasing Harumi in the end is epic.
Harumi Day 3 - 00:00:
What's up with all those good Harumi levels? They should have included atleast one or two more of them. The dog shibito breaking through the bridge is hilarious. Also the music playing here has a childlike tone to it, which fits perfectly in my opinion.
Tamon Day 3 - 03:00:
I like the teamwork aspect of this level, there should have been more levels like this one.
Kei Day 3 - 16:00:
This one is another level where literally nothing can fuck with Shiro. The dog shibito go down so easily with the hammer and even though Risa and Mina keep walking while shooting at them, they're are still no match for the powerful revolver. Shiro burying Mina again after three days is a nice touch. |

| Well, I like almost all of the missions. Apart from the one where you have to kill all the shibito and the one where you have to complete the level in 1:55. Mind you, i've been busy playing FS2, so I have not played FS1 in a while. |

| well actually i must say i dont have any mission i would say was best and the one i say which was worst.....just some where tough and some kinda easy.
The timed mission with AKiRa ShiMuRa was kinda tough, also the mission u got to listen to the message on the firetower. Ok also bit crappy was fighting Jun with the rifle...........this one maybe could have come out bit better and its one of the hardest since the controll also is not the best of a video game.
The final boss fight with Data was somewhat crappy easy but not so easy for me at first was find out how to defeat him since that i did not have any internet that time........also some second mission objectives somehow i did not know how to reach.
The only thing was left was patiently search the areas for any place could reveal some actions or what. Either through own or of the shibito eyes. |

| Generally I liked every mission. However, I really hated the "trial and error" way some mission required you to die multiple times until you figure out what you have to do. The Akira timed mission is one of them and as for all the secondary mission objectives... well, half of them are harder than some classic quests I've played and that's saying a lot. I guess many people managed to beat the game without using walkthrough but I freely admit I wasn't one of those. _________________ You're a materialist, like all ignorant people. All of us used a walkthrough. In fact you almost are required to look at a walkthrough due to the sheer diffuculty of the levels. And before I looked at a walkthrough I didn't know you needed to grab items in the level to unlock future missions._________________ My Siren Fansite: |

| I remembered Shiro's mission where you need to get the hammer which unlocks a secondary mission for him in the future, god if I didn't use a walkthrough I had been stuck since then. |

| I liked the school and Hospital missions <3 Ugh there was one mission I hated where I had to go back to 2 other missions to unlock it. I was going along with the walkthrough and was like oh I need to go do this other mission. So I go to do it. and then I find to do that one I need to go back to another one to pick something up D: _________________ |

Logically this is not correct. The person who wrote the first walkthrough couldn't have used a walkthrough. Also about grabbing items/completing some weird goals: The game actually tells you after a certain point that you have to unlock something. In the link navigator you can follow a line to previous mission by holding L1 where it shows you a key or something on specific missions. Selecting these missions with a key will give you a vague hint in the beginning of the mission. I would have wished that the game would have told you that somewhere. I don't know if it's explained in the manual as my factory-sealed copy never came with a manual.
By the way I have also used a walkthrough the first time. Playing the game the second time after a long time (thus forgetting many solutions) I completed it without looking at a walkthrough; But I knew how the game worked by then - The game should have really done a better job of communicating its functioning to the player. |

| Yeah, I was about to point that part out - the people who wrote the walkthroughs obviously didn't use walkthroughs. So it IS possible to beat the game with all extras without one, but you have to have a hell of an instinct, nerves of adamantium and some 200 free hours for trial and error... Brrr, the mere thought of it... Btw, I didn't need walkthrough to get the hang of secondary objectives, even though Siren is decidedly player-unfriendly, but then again, I played Siren 2 first, and I guess things were clearer there. What I HADN'T figured out by myself, was the fact that even when you've completed a secondary mission prerequisite, you still need to finish the mission it's in, or it won't take effect. I lost a few hours that way - thinking I'd completed things I actually hadn't because I hadn't played their missions to the end. _________________ You're a materialist, like all ignorant people.
