| Well she wasn't killed at the Tabori house. During the whole game she was turning into a shibito until it took effect at the Church.
But yes that was pretty sad.
I think one of the saddest parts was when Harumi finds out Reiko was turned into a shibito at Tabori. ):
I mean that poor girl lost her parents in a car accident and then loses not only Miyako, someone who she looked up to as a sister, but now the woman who wanted to take care of her.
Talk about losing so many people around you in a short amount of time. That must be devastating. _________________ My Siren Fansite:

| Mine's same with Ichiko's but it's at the part where Harumi was saved by the shibitofied Reiko from the school principal at the nest stage in the game. |

| I felt sad for Tomoko when she finally arrives to see her parents but has to leave because of her mutation. I felt sad for Reiko when I read the newspaper article that she had saved a child from drowning but wasn't able to save her own child. For whom I felt the most however was Tamon. He lost his parents when he was a child. He then returns to the village over 20 years later just to see what a mess it has become. I was also sad when he hugs his shibito parents pompously even though it's just an illusion of their original selves. Well, I also felt sorry for all the survivors of the incident who can't leave the village anymore. You could really sympathize with alot of the characters in the game, an aspect that was somehow lacking in the sequel in my opinion. | Ichiko Yagura wrote: | | I mean that poor girl lost her parents in a car accident and then loses not only Miyako, someone who she looked up to as a sister, but now the woman who wanted to take care of her. |
Miyako and Harumi never meet again, true, but Harumi didn't experience Miyako's death, so technically she still might think she's alive. |

Well we don't know that. What you are saying is speculation. But for the purpose of what I was saying she'd still grow up without her physical presence and affections just like the other people who had cared for her in her young life. I don't know why that was necessary to nit-pick. Especially when I was just stating a fact about the coarse of events in the game and why I thought it was sad._________________ My Siren Fansite: |

| I fully understand and agree with your reasoning why Harumi loosing Miyako was sad. I just wanted to philosophize about your assessment by stating the fact that Harumi is never anywhere near Miyako during the 3 day period, hence my speculation on Harumi's nescience of Miyako's physical presence. I didn't intend to nitpick, sorry if it came off that way |

| I'm sorry. I thought that was a personal shot at me and I got defensive. I apologize.
I just wanted to answer the topic. I wasn't trying to speculate her feelings afterwards because that wasn't the point of the topic. I was just talking about the things we know from playing the game which I factored together to being sad. I mean this in a non-condescending way.
Again sorry for getting so defensive.
Also I agree with Reiko's misfortune of losing her child to the tsunami when she saved someone else's. You can tell she never really got over that especially calling Harumi "Megumi". ): _________________ My Siren Fansite: |

| I think Reiko's was pretty sad. Tomoko was kinda sad, but she was a bit of a brat haha. I know she stil didn't deserve to die, just saying... Reiko was completely selfless and just wanted to save Harumi. |

| Tamon's what the saddest. The way he started to hug them, trying to make himself believe that they were real, was [b]EXTREMELY sad. |

| I agree that Tomoko's encounter with her mother and father at the church is very sad indeed. She's clearly been absolutely terrified since the whole ordeal started, and badly in need of her parents - having solace and sanctuary denied her after all her efforts is a cruel stroke. Seeing her shoulders slump as she turns, rejected, from the church window and walks dejectedly into the fog is heartbreaking. Of course, if you've a perverse frame of mind, you could say things work out alright for the Maedas, playing happy families in the underworld for eternity: "Together forever". Perhaps Daddy even gets the lighter to work at some point.
The Mrs Takato/Harumi relationship is also a sad one. Their mutual need for one another, given their respective tragic pasts, lends real poignancy to the pairing. It's not an entirely healthy bond, admittedly, especially on the part of Mrs Takato, but this doesn't take away from it's emotional force, and is yet another credit to the writers of Siren. Reiko's resolve to protect Harumi whatever the cost, and ultimate self-sacrifice, again make her fate seem very cruel. Seeing Harumi break into an expectant smile after escaping the abandoned house and hearing Mrs Takato's voice, only to have her hopes dashed, is another classic Siren moment.
I also found Risa and Mina's ultimate reunion in the Miyata Clinic quite sad. We never really see Mina before she's in Shibito form, so I suppose it could be difficult to empathise with her plight, but when she and Risa's minds join there's a memory flashback between them. As well as seeing Mina's final moments as Shiro strangles her, we also see the two sisters as infants, playing together on a beach. It seems natural to view this as a treasured memory from the past, and serves as a bitter reminder of how far the two of them now are from that childhood idyll, their sisterly bond transfigured into something far more twisted. |

| I felt sad for a lot of the characters but Harumi is the one i felt saddest for and one of my main reasons is the fact that she is a child in the midst of all of it |

| Miss Takatos suicide or... sacrifice to save Harumi. That scene touched my feelings. And the encounter between Harumi and Shibito Takato outside the "Maedas" house gave me the feel of total despair "man, her dear teacher is now a zombie what is she going to do now ?" but then when Takato smiled that way... "Crap ! Weve got to survive Harumi ! Get a hold of yourself and run little girl, run !!! That scene scared me but it was very sad too. |
