Hello there ladies and gents!
Im overjoyed to see that there is a fan forum still going for this fantastic franchise! I have infact been floating around here for some time since discovering the games, which was only at the beginning of last year believe it or not! (It's madness, I know)
Siren definitely deserves more recognition as a survival horror game, especially in a time where the genre has become sort of stagnant , often becoming more about shooting than really challenging the gamer with puzzles and ways of going about completing the chapters within the game using alternative methods and routes.
I also have a love for the old fashioned ghost stories and tales that involve the supernatural and unexplained, something which has a massive presence in this series obviously. Whereas the latest trend in the mainstream of survival horror seems to be games based on blowing zombies apart. There is nothing really 'horror' about this anymore, sure there is sort of a social commentary aspect of it but it's been done to death now.
Forbidden Siren has really put the feeling of knowing fear, back into me. Here your not the hunter, but the hunted. And no marine/cop/army force is coming to help you, you are isolated in time and space so it seems.
In conclusion I'd just like to say that I hope this forum continues on growing as it already has such a great community, and that we may hopefully see more entries to this brilliant franchise whether it may be in more games, movies or books.
